Description
Seeking an accomplished Gameplay Programmer to work with a team of experienced engineers on an unannounced game using our proprietary engine and tools. Candidate would be expected to work in several areas of game development, however would be primarily tasked with gameplay related functionality.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented, collaborative approach to development, and be experienced in many areas of game development—including programming tasks related to a variety of subjects such as physics, graphics, gameplay, networking, math, tools, etc. Candidate must be focused on the quality of their work, be able to learn quickly, be able to complete any programming task efficiently, and be able to grasp new technologies and concepts quickly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement gameplay related tasks
  • Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks
  • Design and develop technical features specific to the game
  • Design and develop game systems that contribute to the core technology framework
  • Work closely with game designers, producers, engineers, and artists to ensure the highest quality product
  • Put in the effort and time necessary to complete tasks in a timely fashion as well as making sure they are robust, expandable, and fun

Skillset & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years professional game programming experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Outstanding C/C++ programming skills, and ability to grasp complex systems
  • At least one shipped title
  • Pro-active about making things happen
  • Desire to put in the time and effort necessary to make a game great
  • A passion for games and game development

Pluses

  • Experience with Lua as a game scripting language

Environment Artist

Twisted Pixel Games is seeking a highly motivated and talented environment artist who can turn 2D concepts into fully finished 3D models and environments for games.  The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented/collaborative approach to development and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with art leads, designers and concept artists to create game environments and props from blockout to “in game assets”.
  • Implement impressive lighting scenarios that push current technologies.
  • Manage outsourced environment assets.
  • Identify environment layout risks and issues on a project and be able to determine and execute creative solutions.
  • Work closely with Game Directors and team to ensure the highest quality assets are delivered.
  • Contribute to other departments as necessary during production

Skillset & Requirements

  • Outstanding proficiency and experience building and texturing AAA environments using Maya, ZBrush/Mudbox and Photoshop.
  • Excellent time management skills (assigned tasks and estimates) and the ability to handle large workloads efficiently.
  • Pro-active about making things happen and working with contractors.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in the industry.
  • Experience creating custom shaders for environments.
  • Experience with current generation game engines like Unreal, Radiant or Unity.
  • Desire and ability to put in the time and effort necessary to make a game great.

  • Experience “grey boxing” environments.
  • Experience with current generation lighting and shading engines.
  • Experience rigging and skinning environment assets for animators.
  • Traditional and Digital Illustration/Concepting skills.

Visual Effects (VFX) Artist

Seeking a highly motivated and talented Visual Effects Artist capable of filling a wide variety of roles related to game art creation including VFX, UI, and advanced material shaders. The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of visual effect creation software, Maya, and possess the ability to solve technical problems to achieve desired results. The candidate will contribute a high level of creativity and personality, have a team-oriented/collaborative approach to development and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality visual effects and particle systems for a variety of gameplay scenarios.
  • Contribute to user interface design to achieve desired experience in game.
  • Assist with advanced material creation and post process effects.
  • Work closely with Game Directors and team to ensure the highest quality assets are delivered.

Skillset & Requirements

  • Ability to author original textures and assets for use in visual effects design.
  • Expert with Visual FX creation software and ability to translate to our own proprietary toolset.
  • Experience creating 3d assets and materials in Maya.
  • Familiarity with lighting in game, material creation, and post effects.
  • Excellent time management skills (for assigned tasks) and the ability to handle large workloads efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in game development with successful completion of published games.
