Twisted Pixel Games is seeking a deeply experienced Animator who demonstrates the proven ability to lead as a Project Director to coordinate and manage the efforts of a talented team of animators. The ideal candidate will be well versed in animation and cinematic standards, be an expert Maya user, contribute a high level of creativity and personality, have a team-oriented/collaborative approach to development, and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.
 
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define and delegate all animation tasks related to the production cycle.
  • Work with the game director and other project directors to understand the animation needs of the project and how they relate to gameplay.
  • Communicate feedback and critique effectively, ensuring the animation team meets the quality, artistic, and production standards of the project.
  • Understand the game’s narrative, gameplay, and technical direction and effectively communicate that vision to the team.
  • Assist in coordinating and directing motion capture sessions.
  • Bring gameplay concepts and cinematic sequences from an initial greybox/blockout state to a highly detailed finished product.
  • Work with designers and programmers on a daily basis to be sure animation is being implemented in efficient and effective ways.

This person will be responsible for the maintenance and support of multiple existing systems, as well as new project analysis, design, and implementation. They will be responsible for quickly learning the needs of the business and implementing numerous roadmap initiatives under the IT Director. They will also provide support for escalated help desk issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, assess, and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Twisted Pixel Games is seeking a highly motivated and talented Visual Effects (VFX) Artist capable of authoring realistic and high-quality visual effects. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various visual effects programs and possess the ability to solve technical problems to achieve desired results. The candidate will contribute a high level of creativity and personality, have a team-oriented collaborative approach to development, and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality visual effects and particle systems for a variety of gameplay and cinematic scenarios.
  • Work with game programmers to facilitate the implementation of VFX in game.
  • Assist with advanced material creation, post process effects and lighting as needed.
  • Work closely with the Art and Design teams to ensure the highest quality assets are delivered.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of direct experience as a VFX artist in the game industry with at least 2 shipped PC/console titles.
  • Proficient in creating compelling visual effects in any VFX creation software.
  • Ability to author original textures and assets for use in visual effects design.
  • Experience creating 3D assets and materials in Maya or another 3D package as needed to support effects.
  • Familiarity with lighting in game, material creation, and post effects.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle large workloads efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in game development with successful shipped games.
  • Proactive about making things happen and a drive to continue developing as an artist.
  • Desire and ability to put in the time and effort necessary to make a game great.
